Hey everybody. havent posted anything for a week or so. This is a picture of Brunswick Stew, A PD recipe. Ive come to the conclusion that her stews are so thick that you dont need to add crackers or sop up with bread. We did have this with garlic bread. It has chicken in it and other good stuff. It was goooood. We had this last weekend and the next day we had it poured over mashed potatoes and that was real good too.
Last week I also made Chicken fried Steak. I bought cheap top round steak and took a meat mallet to it. Ive never used a mallet before. had to go buy one. This was a PD recipe too, but forgot the picture. It was the best recipe and the meat was tender. The gravy was outstanding.

Hey y'all, We have a campworker who is leaving to go home to Dallas cuz he's in LOVE. His name is Joe, he's a retired elementary art teacher. So some of us went to the pizza place here in West for one last dinner before he and his dog, Friend leave. I have pictures of all of us.Dick and Judy from Tx/Louisianna. Dave and Sue from Minnesotta. And our campground owner stopped by, Charles.
Dick and Judy left awhile back to work with core of engineers at Lake Waco and will be heading to Co. In a few months to work at a lake above Estes Park. They are gonna love it there.
Dave and Sue just announced they are leaving too. They need to be closer to Waco so they are probably gonna get a spot close to Dick and Judy and work there too. I'll be able to visit them while they are all here. Plus we still have to go shooting and gun shopping with Sue and Dave.
I was gorgeous out yesterday, got to 77 degrees. Today only to be 60 +. But nicer again tomorrow.

  Hey grandkids, We miss you!!!
here's a pic of the cheeseburger meatloaf pic. the pic of it before I cut it disappeared into nowhere land. It looked awesome then poof, gone.
Good morning, Last nite I decided to do another PD recipe. I made Molasses game hens. Also we had green beans and salad. Now I don't usually change the recipe the first time I make it, but I was missing cayenne pepper. No time to go to town so I used chili powder. Also I did not put it in a roaster pan and bake it. I tried cooking it in an electric skillet, thinking I could create an oven atmosphere. Didnt want to waste our propane. So I made 2 mistakes and It made a difference. It was lacking something in the flavor dept. and almost burned the molasses concoction because of the direct heat. You were to keep basting with the stuff. I usually use my bbq grill to create an oven atmosphere which works great and I should of because it was real nice outside. I will try this recipe again but I will make sure I use cayenne pepper and bake it properly. I still took pics of  the meal. Tonite  we are gonna just have hamburgers.
I bought Spanky a new toy today that squeaks  and it scares him It is so funny watching him try to growl at it and paw at it. Then when it squeaks it jumps into the air trying to get away from it. Its so funny.
I also finished painting a sign with our names on it to put up outside like everybody else has. You will see a pic of it too, but my phone didnt take a very good pic of it . Looks faded in color. Oh well!
Talked to Shasta today and she is so bummed. She and Jim were training to run a marathon in March and Jim pulled or tore something in his leg so they wont be going now. He might have to have surgery, hope he tries physical therapy first. I would like to watch her sometime run one
Amy is trying to get her big sis Abbie to visit her in okl. city soon. I hope she comes so I can see her too.

Well check out my crazy food pics and talk at y"all later.

The previous food pics were the Red Wine Beef Stew in the pot and poured over mashed potatoes. Pictures just dont do it justice. Too bad you cant lick the screen and taste it along with smelling it.
Thought I had more to talk about but forgot what it was, so til next time

Im gonna try to do somemore pics. so here goes
Well on Saturday I fixed PD's Red Wine Beef Stew. It was a little involved but it was delicious. It was more like steak with a gravy you pour over mashed potatoes..Also made broccoli and cauliflower salad from my southern living cookbook. We had it for leftovers yesterday and it was still yummy. It called for a whole bottle of wine.
yesterday one of our single guy neighbors decided to get totally wasted and play his radio in his truck real loud. It was no big deal all day but once it got dark and bedtime it became a real problem for the people that lived on both sides of him.The owner actually told him to turn it down earlier in the day. Neither of the neighbors complained but the owner called the sheriff at 10;30 pm last night. 4 cop cars and an ambulance showed up. One of the cars headlights were shining in our windows. The guy was sitting in his truck passed out with radio blaring. He was told to turn it down and he did. But after they left he turned it back on and drove his truck out back and forth shining his lights in neighbors windows cuz he thought they turned him in. So they called the owner and the cops came out again about 1;30. This time they told him to go inside and stay there and if he came out and got in truck again they would arrest him. They actually drove thru a 3rd time later to make sure he was inside. I wonder if the owner is gonna evict him now? I guess we shall wait and see.
Spanky is now 6.2 lb. I just gave him a bath and now he is all tuckered out. Poor puppy , I so abuse him.LOL
I was originally gonna make creamy peanut soup but Paul kept turning his nose up at the idea and the weather was gonna be too nice for soup. It was 68 yesterday , we washed our vehicles and I waxed my car and Paul shampooed the seats in the truck and vacuumed it This is the first time in 35 years that our cars have to sit outside so I try to keep mine waxed and the interior conditioned and I usually put a window thing in the back and front windows when it is a scorcher out. I wanna keep my new car new.
Im gonna try to post some pics. If you see them I succeeded. If not, well you know!

whatta dinner!!!!

Hey ya'll, That was the best meatloaf I've ever had! Now I  wasn't able to make the turnip mashed potatoes cuz the little stores in town didn't have any turnips. So I made instant potatoes. But I did make PD's Blackeyed Pea Salad again. It's just so good, had to have it again. When I figure out how to post pics Ill show the finished results.
Let Spanky up on our bed last night. He was on it for 15 mins and decided to pee on it. He just lost his bedroom privileges. He got his last puppy shots , now we need to get him fixed. The vet wants us to wait 2 wks before we get it done.Other than that he good for a year.

Hey there ya'll, I haven't posted for a few days. I've been having problems doing this. All of a sudden I can't seem to be able to add pictures and was about to give up the whole thing. But I decided to keep writing until I can figure out how to add more pictures. Also had to change to google chrome instead of internet explorer.
So today I've decided to make PD's recipe for Cheeseburger Meatloaf and sauce for dinner.Need to go to store and pick up a few needed items, but I have most everything I need.I think I will add to it PD's turnip mashed potatoes(not sure about this one, turnips you know) Unless I figure out how to add a picture of this, you will just get to hear how good it was. But I will take pics for later when I do learn how to add them. Ive started out with simple recipes because unless I go into Waco to a large grocery store, I might not find certain Ingredients for different recipes cuz the little grocery stores in West pretty much carry the basics. Like cheeses, no provolone, blue cheese, feta, white cheddar, gonzola, wedge of parmeson etc. you get it.
Today I will be taking Spanky to the Vet for more puppy shots..I gave him a bath the other day. I took my grooming arm and noose and attached it to alittle table in the motorhome.Much easier to groom him, I had the control. His hair is getting longer and Im trying to train it to lie down across his nose and up between his eyes, so he has a tiny pony tail on his head and another one behind it. Looks like a sumo wrestler. I used chapstick to get the nose hair to lay down for now. Im going to go buy butch wax and try that later.
Today it is going to be in the mid 70's. Can't wait. Paul will get home today at 3. But he has to work tomorrow. Sunday he is going goose hunting with a co-worker.
Here is something ya'll would never expect out of me. I'm gonna take classes to shoot a gun, I need to learn about the different type of guns cuz I think the gun I'm gonna get is a 38(?) ya'll know, like a Dick Tracey gun. Paul is gonna take a class in Concealed Weapons so he can get a license to carry one. Might look in to joining the shooting range. This I guess will be our new thing to do together  We have this arsenal in our motorhome, it seems like the thing to do to learn how to use them. After all we are in Texas.I'll let ya'll know how that goes when I start it.sounds like fun.
Today Im going to try to paint a sign with our names on it to put outside our motorhome like all those snowbirds do. nobody will ever have one like mine. Since Paul pretty much has his weekend planned, it gives me time to paint.
I also bought a clicker to help with training this pup. He's a tiny ball of energy and he is becoming a barker which isnt very loud but at 4 in the morning when Paul lets him out I'm sure our neighbors don't appreciate it at all. well I need to get busy so talk at ya'll later

Spanky the Malti-tzu

About out pup, His name is Spanky(from our gang) We acually bought 2 pups (not my idea) Paul thought they needed company. The other guy's name was Alfalfa(Alfie). He was so cute, I picked him. He had more maltese features and mellow. Paul chose Spanky cuz he seemed spunky. Well we took them to the vet 2 days later to have them looked at. They had diarhea but I didnt think that was going to be anything serious. Well they had round worms and coccidia which is parasites in  the intestines. these two things they get from their mother before they are born which means she was not vaccinated for them. They also had ear mites which is the sign of a dirty facility. First we didnt know she was a breeder until we meant her. She had us meet her in this little town in a parking lot. she lived 2 1/2 hours away. So she met us half way so we wouldnt have to be on the road for 5 hours total. well to make along story short, my little
alfie died.
I txt her 4 times during this whole ordeal and she never responded.. Finally 2 wks before Christmas I txt her one more time. told her the vet and a guy from the tx dept of agriculture, animal health said the dogs got sick from her facility and there fore I would like my money back for the one dog, not a replacement. Wow she wrote me back and said she would refund the money. Havent seen it yet so I guess Im gonna have to txt her again and turn her into the Ag dept. and have them check out her facility If I dont see a check soon. They are having a real problem here in tx with puppy mills and dirty facilities and shutting them down.So I guess its agood thing Paul picked out this guy cuz he is fine. He just makes me his new chew toy. I even put hot sauce on my hands once and he still try gnawing on me. Ill tell you more about him another day

day 1 new blog/ 3rd day of the new year 2012

So here I am on day one of setting up my blog. Ive been going to do this for several months but couldnt think of what I would write about or is that blog about. We havent really taken in too much site seeing with Paul working 10 hour days and alot of weekends. I decided to do a blog sorta like a diary. Maybe I might be able to sell some of my stuff from doing this. I also decided that once a week I would pick a recipe out of my Paula Deen's cooking bible or my Southern Living cookbook and make it, take a pic of the meal (pretty of not) eat it and let ya'll  know how it was. I also am hoping by having this blog that my mom will get on line and check it out. She refuses to do e-mail and Facebook but I think she can browze on her computer. If she can't I hope somebody at home will show her how to so she can see some of these pics I post on FB.
So back to recipes. last night I made smothered chicken and it was yummy.. It was easy and had few ingredients. Unfortunately I didnt take a pic of it becuz I thought of the recipe thing after we ate. It did have a whole stick of butter in it which made it toxic for all of us so its probably a good thing Im only gonna try them out once aweek. It was a PD recipe.
Oh, another thing I could talk about is our vampire puppy, Spanky the new member of our family. And life in a campground. Which both are interesting, maybe, maybe not
